Thoughts on Bob Marley

My friend Marcel shared this on the anniversary of Bob Marley’s death, a memory of a summer spent in conversation, in sharing food.  In living.

30 years after Bob Marley’s death… how many people out there were, like me, inspired by Bob as a child; how many realized, for the first time, the possibilities for the art as a voice for the voiceless, for a different way of relating to the world? How many artists, writers, and musicians grew out of the fertile ground laid by Bob Marley?  Over the years, I have shared a love for Bob everywhere from Africa to TIbet, from Samoa to Paris. For he speaks in a language that truly transcends. The summer of ’96 was a good one for me (I met my wife that summer).  Many thanks to Mr. Greenweedz (AKA Green Wilder) for the link.
